I am enthusiastic about being able to use basic podcasting to communicate more with parents, review skills and concepts for students, and provide enrichment activities in other subject areas.
Module 9: QR Codes
Wow! I can hardly describe my enthusiasm about using QR codes in my classroom. I have always wanted to give it a try, but again that fear just kept me from it. Now, I can see many helpful uses for QR codes and I’m sure my students will too.
Module 8: HyperDocs
HyperDocs will minimize wasted time, maximize student choice, and allow me to differentiate and individualize tasks. How exciting!!
Module 7: Digital Assessment
I loved how using Google Forms made it so quick and easy for me to create a quiz on figurative language for my students.
Module 6: Flipped Learning
This flipped lesson will provide first exposure to converting fractions to decimals through song and video tutorials.
Module 5: Screencasting
Screencasting can eliminate my students and my frustrations with having to repeat how to log in, how to navigate, and how to submit assignments. I am sure they will want to use screencasting to teach me a few tech things also!
Module 4: Curation
Our students and their families have voiced strong opinions against the charter school being housed on our campus, so I chose to use this as my topic for the curation assignment.
Module 3: Mind Mapping
I enjoyed using Lucid Chart to create my first Mind Map. I was most pleased with how easy it was to customize my mind map the way I wanted it to be. I am looking forward to using it with my fifth graders.
Module 2: Online Collaboration
I am envisioning my grade level team using Slack because we collaborate for all of our trimester planning, some of our unit planning, and even some weekly planning.
Module 1: Reflection
I know there are programs for parents to sign up for conferences, extensions on Google Suite, etc., but I get stuck in my comfort zone and fear moving out.
